Capstone project is a large project that required involvement of multidisciplinary elements and team work. This design project will focus on the project based on the demand and needs. After conceiving the design concepts, researching for the implementation methods and performing a feasibility study which includes social/culture, technological analysis, economic, environmental, ethical, health, safety, sustainability, political and social impacts. This capstone project will use the C-D-I-O (Conceive – Design – Implement – Operate) framework to deliver the project. Each project team will be handling a project and produce a designed product based on C-D-I-O framework. The whole design processes are to be documented.
Objective of Capstone Project:
- To have students specify and plan an electrical engineering project
- To enable students to apply theory learnt in prior years in an integrated manner
- To allow students to work through a C-D-I-O cycle on their own to conceive a given project
- To get students to apply their oral and written communication skills
- To promote interpersonal interaction and team working to achieve project’s goals
